Mid-Month News

May 16, 2025

Dear Members,

As many of you know, we usually stick to one newsletter per month — but this time, we have quite a few exciting updates to share with you all.

Member Survey

We’ve prepared a survey to help us get to know you better. Through it, we hope to learn more about your interests, skills, and whether you'd be open to volunteering. Your input will help us shape future events and opportunities that align with your passions. The survey is optional.

🗓 Deadline: Submit by 15th June

Art Spaces Brainstorming Meeting

Bernie took the initiative to host a brainstorming session on 3rd May to explore interest in art spaces among our community.

📄 Read the meeting minutes here:https://thencf.art/news/2025/05/03/general-meeting-minutes

She also encourages all visual artists to take 15–20 minutes to complete this 🔗Arts Council form: https://visualartists.ie/acvaws-artists-2025/

The Arts Council has commissioned Visual Artists Ireland to carry out an important survey about artist workspaces. This is part of a larger effort to really understand what artists across Ireland need — now and in the future — when it comes to where and how they work.

Why is this survey important? The findings will help the Arts Council understand the real demand for studio space, specialised production facilities, and how these are spread geographically. It’s all about ensuring future support is based on what you actually need.

🗓 Deadline: Submit by 2nd June, 5:30pm

Kutz n Trax clubnight (Saturday, 31st May)

Read Jonathan's call below:

We’re putting on an intimate, small-capacity BYOB alternative club night (50-person limit) on Saturday, 31st May in theNCF Space, and we’re looking for a few sound volunteers to help it run smoothly. The event is hosted by 2 Djs playing house and techno music with some other bits mixed in. Lights, lazers, smoke machine to create the vibe. A chill out space is to the front of the upstairs venue with a main room for dancing and Smoking area out the back. We plan on doing a few events over the summer months.

We are looking for 4 people to help out.

We need help with:

  • managing door and guestlist check-in, taking entry fees, and keeping an eye on the money box;
  • vibe check: keeping an eye on the space and crowd;
  • light cleanup after the event;
  • general support during the night.

Event details:

  • setup starts at 4pm;
  • doors open 9pm, event starts 9.30pm and the night runs until close.

It’s a chill, community-driven night with good music and good people, all sound heads.

Interested? Just reply to info@thencf.art with your name and a quick line about yourself. No experience needed — just come ready to get involved and help keep the night flowing.
